Frequently Asked Questions:

How does it work?

I attach synthetic eyelash extensions to each one of your individual eyelashes. Hybrid, Volume and Mega Volume extensions are still applied to one single natural lash. I attach them with a special glue that is formulated specifically for eyelash extensions.

What does Classic, Hybrid, Volume, Mega Volume mean?

Every lash artist is different and therefore they define thier sets differently. Because your natural lash health and safety is of utmost importance to me I am considered a conservative lash artist. My definitions are as follows.

Classic Lashes also sometimes known as individual lashes are the most natural set. Classics are similar to a mascara look but with added length and curl. Classics are perfect for someone that is wanting a little pop but to remain somewhat natural. Like all sets the overall density will be determined by the density of your natural lashes.

Hybrid Lashes are one step up from Classics. They are a 50/50 mix of classic and light volume fans. They are best suited for someone that wants a little bit of added density but to still have a more natural look.

Volume Lashes are full coverage of hand made volume fans tailored to each individual eyelash on your eye. The amount of volume will be determined by the strength of your natural lash and desired overall look we are aiming to achieve.

Mega Volume is the most length and/or weight and/or fullness that we can safely achieve without causing damage. The is the most dramatic and most dense set that I offer.

As my client you can switch between any set at any time without requiring a removal. If you decide that you want to go fuller or less full at anytime we can make the change during your fills.

The main difference between each set is density. Not to be confused with styling.

What is 1-1 or 1-3d?

As mentioned in my price list a classic set is 1-1. This means that I attach 1 synthetic extension to 1 of your natural lashes.

As seen in my price list a hybrid set is 1-3d. This means that I will attach a mixture of classic and volume extensions to your natural lashes. 50% of your natural lashes will receive 1-1 and the other 50% will receive volume fans. The 'd' in 3d signifies how many extensions make up a fan. Ex. 3d is a 3 extension fan, 5d is a 5 extension fan, etc.

What is styling?

Styling is the shape that we create with the density you have chosen. You have probably heard the term "cat eye", "rounded eye", "wispy", or a version of these. Many lash artists call their shaping something different. But this is where we have the opportunity to create and enhance or correct your facial features. As an example, if you have a down turned outer eye, we can correct that by using rounded eye styling. This will lift your eye- instant face lift! We would not want to put cat eye styling on a downturned eye as this can exaggerate the drooping look. Knowing what to do and when is why styling is so important!

Why do I book based on time and not weeks past?

I find this to be the most fair way to charge for both of us. It can take a little bit of getting used to but essentially you are responsible for your lashes. I will always be honest with your about if you waited too long between fills or if I think that you could have waited longer to come. Once you get an understanding of how long your can go and what your lashes look like when they need to be filled then you are in charge. If you do wait too long and I am not able to get you back to 100% in the 45min appointment that you have, I will let you know and you can come back sooner next time.

Do I fill others work?

Yes I do! But I do like to ask a few questions here. Why are you coming to me to get your fill? Are you happy with your lashes? Do your extensions hurt?

All lash artists are different, we have different styles, use different techniques, use different products, and work differently. If you are needing a one time fill because your artist is away, I will do my best to do what she has previously done. But if you are unhappy with the set for any reason (they hurt, are improperly applied, are not lasting like they should, etc) then it really is best to remove what is there and start with a new set.

Can I send pictures of the different sets that I offer:

I get asked this question by inquiring new clients quite often. I absolutely understand why a person would want to have these visuals but it is very hard to send a picture of a set on someone else. The out come of every set is going to look different on every client. Some of the different factors that can affect the overall look are: the density of the specific clients natural lashes, the clients face and eye shape, her overall desired look, the set she got, and the length and curl I used to create that set. Because of all these different factors, no two sets will look the same. However, I do have a gallery for you to see some of my work.

How long do they last?

Retention really depends on how well you maintain your lashes. Aftercare is the single best way to ensure that your lashes last. In general most clients return at the 2-3 week mark for a fill. By that time it is expected that you will have about 50% of the original set remaining and would require a fill to keep them looking their best. The time frame between fills is completely dependant on how many natural lashes you have, your natural shed cycle (your eyelashes shed just like your hair), how well you maintain them, and how full you like them to look and if you got back to 100% at your pervious fill. Some ladies come every 2 weeks for a fill and some can stretch it to over 3. If you are getting lashes for a one time event and don't expect to fill them, you can expect to have some still hanging on after 6 weeks.

How long do they take to apply?

This is different for everyone and depends on how many natural lashes you have, how difficult they are to work with and the set that you are getting. These are some general estimates but can be different.

Usually it takes about 1.5 hour appointment for all new classic and hybrid sets. It can take up to 2 hours for a full set of volume and mega volume. There are rare cases that I could take 2.5 hours for a mega volume new set.

All fills are booked for 45 minutes.

If you know that you will be going longer between fills and will require more time you are encouraged to book a 15 min time extension. This allows for me to get your lashes back to 100%. A 15 minute appointment extension can only be added to a volume or mega volume fill and is an extra $15.

If you are late to your appointment, the late time is taken out of your appointment time. If you are more than 15 minutes late you forfeit your appointment and a fee will be charged.

After care:

Times have changed! You do not have to wait to get them wet anymore.

Please do not use mascara on your lashes. If you use mascara on your bottom lashes it can transfer to your top lashes.

Eyeliner and eye shadow are ok but please no gels. Eyeliner pencil can gunk up in the base of your lashes.

Do not use oil based products on your face. This includes: makeup removers, lotions, eye creams, serums, etc.

Make sure that you wash your conditioner out of your hair and avoid getting the conditioner in your lashes. If you do make sure to clean them throughly.

Avoid excessive heat for 48 hours after application, this includes: no hot steam, baths, saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, etc.

You must clean your lashes every day, at least once per day. If you can, I recommend washing them twice. Wash them when you wake up and before bed. If you exercise a lot and get sweaty, make sure you are cleaning your lashes right after. I will discuss how to clean your lashes at your appointment.

It is very important to not pick, pull, rub or twist the extensions, let them fall out naturally or you can damage your natural lashes. Also, avoid sleeping on your extensions.

If you experience any problems with your lashes they will need to be examined by me and will be fixed free of charge within 36 hours, anything after that will be discretionary and a payment will be needed.

Can I bring a someone?

Please come alone, this is a relaxing experience for you, where you will lay with your eyes closed. Please don’t bring children, friends and or significant others. Also, please limit your caffeine intake on the day of. Caffeine is a stimulant, and can make your eyes twitchy making it harder for me to work.

How do I book an appointment -

Please text 780-686-5256. Online booking coming soon!

Special event eyelashes -

If you are having your lashes done for a special event and you have never had them before, I recommend having a full set done 2 weeks before the date, and then an fill a couple of days before your event. Why? - If you to have an allergic reaction, you will have time to heal before your event.
